Baseball Game Preview: Bridgeport Bulldogs vs. Shadyside Tigers

Bridgeport hasn't had much luck against Shadyside recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Tigers at 11:00 a.m. Shadyside took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Bridgeport, who comes in off a win.

Bridgeport made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Beallsville, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 16-4 margin over the Blue Devils on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Bulldogs have posted against the Blue Devils since April 17, 2021.

Bridgeport got a massive performance out of DANNY GOFF, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave GOFF a new career-high. AVERY JACKSON was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4.

Bridgeport was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Beallsville only posted a batting average of .143.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Shadyside's offense. They fell 4-0 to Caldwell on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Redskins: they've now lost four in a row.

The win got Bridgeport back to even at 1-1. As for Shadyside, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
