Baseball Recap: Wilmot Takes a Loss

Wilmot lost against Elkhorn on Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Panthers took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Elks.

Wilmot saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chance Ruby, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double.

Wilmot has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Elkhorn, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wilmot will challenge St. Joseph at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lancers have averaged an impressive 10.5 runs per game this season. As for Elkhorn, they will venture away from home to square off against Verona at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Elks' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
