Softball Recap: West Side Has No Trouble Against Concord

West Side barely beat Concord the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles never let the Pirates get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory on Tuesday. That looming 11-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Eagles yet this season.

The team relied heavily on Lainee Gentry, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kately Cornett, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

The win made it two in a row for West Side and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Concord, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. West Side will head out to take on Calico Rock at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Concord, they will take on McCrory at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Jaguars' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Pirates' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
