Basketball Recap: Serra Comes Up Short

Serra lost against St. Anthony back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Serra Cavaliers had to suffer through a 105-42 loss at the hands of the St. Anthony Saints. While losing is never fun, the Cavaliers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 544th, while the Saints are ranked 87th).

Serra has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season. As for St. Anthony, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.

Serra will be playing at home against St. Bernard at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in St. Bernard's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games. As for St. Anthony, they will head out on the road to challenge St. Paul at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Anthony has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 228 points over their last three contests.
