Baseball Game Preview: Ashland Blue Devils vs. Hickory Flat Rebels

Ashland hasn't had much luck against Hickory Flat recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Blue Devils will head out to challenge the Rebels at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Ashland's offense. They came up short against Byers on Tuesday, falling 15-0.

Meanwhile, Hickory Flat lost 19-11 to Ingomar on Monday. The Rebels haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Parker Ford and Nick Talley stepped up to the plate in a big way. Ford got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Talley got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Ashland's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Hickory Flat, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.

Ashland suffered a grim 18-0 defeat to Hickory Flat in their previous meeting back in March of 2022. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
