Basketball Recap: Mid-Carolina Comes Up Short

Mid-Carolina was the 58-30 winner over Chapin when they last played one another back in December of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Mid-Carolina Rebels lost to the Chapin Eagles on the road by a 53-36 margin on Saturday. The Rebels' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Reagan Haggard was a one-woman wrecking crew for Chapin as she dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds. That's the most rebounds Haggard has posted since back in January of 2024. Sami Stephenson was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.

Mid-Carolina's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Chapin, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Mid-Carolina will venture away from home to take on Newberry at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Mid-Carolina is facing Newberry at the right time seeing as Newberry is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Chapin, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 60-30 loss against Clover on the 30th.
