Manitowoc Lincoln is 0-8 against Ashwaubenon since May of 2017 but things could change on Monday. The Ships will head out on the road to challenge the Jaguars at 4:30 p.m. Manitowoc Lincoln is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Manitowoc Lincoln lost 9-3 to Oshkosh North on Saturday. The Ships have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hailey Van Kauwenberg was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Taylor Peterson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Ashwaubenon waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They beat the Phantoms by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-1. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by six runs or more this season.

Grace Aichele spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Elly Kirst was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Kahlee James was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double.

Ashwaubenon hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive contests.

Ashwaubenon pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Manitowoc Lincoln, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Manitowoc Lincoln suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Ashwaubenon when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Ships avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
