Football Recap: Selma Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Selma fell victim to Southside and their airtight defense on Thursday. They were beaten by the Panthers 44-0. The Saints were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Southside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kole Moody led the charge by throwing for 305 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.9 yards per attempt. Those 305 passing yards gave Moody a new career-high. Southside's leading receiver Cedrick Simmons was Moody's top target yet again, picking up 130 receiving yards and three scores.

Selma's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Selma wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 34-28 loss against Jemison on the 5th. As for Southside, they have also already played their next matchup, a 22-15 victory against Thomasville on the 5th.
