Preview: York Falcons vs. Grafton Clippers
The York Falcons will be playing at home against the Grafton Clippers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
York fell victim to Lafayette's stalwart defense on Thursday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Rams on the road and fell 42-0. While losing is never fun, York can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 235th, while Lafayette is ranked 49th).
Meanwhile, Grafton never let their opponents score on Friday. They really took it to Jamestown for the full four quarters, racking up a 62-0 win at home. Grafton pushed the score to 48-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Jamestown had no chance of recovering from.
Grafton found their leader in underclassman Luke Bryant, who threw for 285 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 13.0 yards per attempt. The team also got some help courtesy of Koy Snyder, who picked up 94 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
York's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Grafton, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
York beat Grafton 17-10 when the teams last played back in September of 2022. Will York repeat their success, or does Grafton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
