Basketball Recap: Hoggard Comes Up Short

Hoggard suffered their biggest loss since December 21, 2023 on Thursday. They came up short against the New Hanover Wildcats, falling 65-40. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Vikings' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

New Hanover got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kellum Brown out in front who went 8-for-16 en route to 20 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. With that strong performance, Brown is now averaging an impressive 2 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Rodmik Allen, who went 7-for-16 on his way to 19 points in addition to eight assists and six boards.

Hoggard's defeat dropped their record down to 19-4. As for New Hanover, the victory (which was their 18th in a row) raised their record to 22-2.

Looking ahead, Hoggard will take on Topsail in a tournament on Monday. New Hanover does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
