Softball Recap: St. Mary's Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

After losing to Nardin Academy the last time they met, St. Mary decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Lancers walked away with a 7-4 win over the Gators on Wednesday. With that victory, the Lancers brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Ella Dovey, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jada Mushat, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

St. Mary's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 8.8 runs this season. As for Nardin Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Coincidentally, St. Mary's and Nardin Academy will both be playing Nichols the next time they take the field. The Lancers will host the Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Gators will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
