Basketball Recap: Manassas Drops Highest Score of Season Against University

Manassas scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell to the University Tigers 62-56. While Manassas didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating University 18-14 in the first quarter.

University's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was LaTrevius Gant, who went 6 for 13 on his way to 14 points in addition to six boards and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Brewer Jr., who went 7 of 14 on his way to 21 points.

Manassas' defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for University, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Compass - Midtown the next time they take the court. University will host Compass - Midtown at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while Manassas will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
