Softball Recap: Rush City Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Rush City had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Mora Mustangs by a score of 5-2. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mustangs, too.

Kendal Pillar made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cailyn Glenna, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Natalie Rood also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Rush City's record now sits at 6-2. As for Mora, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Looking ahead, Rush City will face off against Hinckley-Finlayson at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jaguars have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Mora, they will venture away from home to challenge East Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
