Basketball Recap: West Essex Falls to Payne Tech in First Game of Season

West Essex unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell to the Payne Tech Lions 55-51. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

West Essex will take on Newark Central in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Payne Tech and Glen Ridge will compete for holiday cheer at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
