Basketball Game Preview: King's Academy Knights vs. Sacred Heart Prep Gators

King's Academy hasn't had much luck against Sacred Heart Prep recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The King's Academy Knights will square off against the Sacred Heart Prep Gators at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in King's Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 16 matches.

King's Academy easily dispatched Menlo School on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. King's Academy fell just short of Priory by a score of 68-65 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Knights have suffered since December 26, 2024.

Meanwhile, Sacred Heart Prep had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Knights by a score of 67-58.

Sacred Heart Prep's win came from a few key players King's Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Alex Osterloh, who went 7 for 14 on his way to 16 points along with eight boards and six assists. Those eight rebounds gave him a new career-high. Alex Straser was another key player, going 6 of 13 en route to 15 points.

Sacred Heart Prep's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for King's Academy, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 17-4.

King's Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Sacred Heart Prep in their previous meeting two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 66-62 win.
