Volleyball Recap: Athens Drive Comes Up Short

Athens Drive was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Corinth Holders Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 2nd.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-10, 25-18.

Mason Fernandez paced Athens Drive's offense, picking up six kills. Fernandez got some help from Annie Baublitz and her nine assists.

Athens Drive's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Corinth Holders, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7.

Athens Drive has already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Rolesville on the 30th. As for Corinth Holders, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Leesville Road on the 30th.
