Soccer Recap: Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet Takes a Loss

The Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet Royals didn't have quite enough to beat the Independence Academy Lions on Tuesday and fell 2-1. While losing is never fun, Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Independence Academy are ranked 34th).

Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet's goal came courtesy of Ahmad Alammori, which was the first he's scored this season.

Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet's loss dropped their record down to 6-5-1. As for Independence Academy, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Coming up, Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet will head out to square off against Maplewood at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Independence Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Antioch on Thursday.
