Soccer Recap: Raymondville Comes Up Short

Raymondville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They lost 24-0 to the Progreso Red Ants. While losing is never fun, the Bearkats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 826th, while the Red Ants are ranked 12th).

Raymondville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Progreso, the win keeps them at an undefeated 21-0.

Looking ahead, Raymondville will face off against Monte Alto at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Progreso, they will be taking part in a tournament against Weslaco at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. Progreso knows how to get goals on the board -- the squad has finished with four goals or more in their past ten matches -- so hopefully Weslaco likes a good challenge.
