Softball Recap: Sherman Wins Going Away Against Nitro

Sherman lost to Nitro back in May of 2021, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Tide were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over the Wildcats. Considering the Tide's hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Lexie Lowe was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three runs and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted over her last eight contests. Savannah Drake was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Sherman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nitro only posted an OBP of .440.

Sherman's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-7. As for Nitro, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-15.

Sherman wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 10-2 loss against Chapmanville Regional on the 29th. As for Nitro, they have also already played their next game, a 6-3 win against Ripley on the 29th.
