Baseball Recap: Caledonia Extends Winning Streak to Three

Caledonia waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Lexington Tigers.

Chandler Cobb tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 5.1 innings pitched.

At the plate, Caledonia's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Colton Barksdale, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. The dominant performance gave Barksdale a new career-high in hits. Another was Hagen Bazzell, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Caledonia's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Lexington, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Caledonia will face off against Houston at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Houston is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Lexington, they have already played their next game, a 3-2 loss against Sparkman on the 13th.
