Volleyball Recap: Alameda Beats Mountain View for Their Third Straight Win

Alameda waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Mountain View Mountain Lions. The Pirates have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mountain Lions, too.

Alameda had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 10-25, 25-23, 25-20, 29-27.

Efrain Huerta paced Alameda's offense, picking up nine kills. Huerta got some help from Colin Nguyen and his 12 assists. Finally, Eduardo Cantillo and Damien Ransdell kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked four attacks.

Alameda's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Mountain View, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Alameda didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against DSST: Cedar on the 13th. As for Mountain View, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against Forge Christian on the 13th.
