Softball Recap: Hasbrouck Heights Snags Sixth Win in Last Seven Games

Hasbrouck Heights won the last time they faced Paterson Charter School for Science and Technology and things went their way on Friday too. The Aviators came out on top against the Lions by a score of 8-3.

Katelin Cowan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mackenzie Riordan was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Ali Monchino was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hasbrouck Heights kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in seven consecutive games.

Hasbrouck Heights has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games.
