Basketball Recap: Simi Valley Takes a Loss

After flying high against Moorpark last Tuesday, Simi Valley came back down to earth. The Simi Valley Pioneers came up short against the Camarillo Scorpions on Friday, falling 62-38. The Pioneers haven't had much luck with the Scorpions recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Despite the loss, Simi Valley still got an impressive performance from Derek Maclean, who went 10 for 21 on his way to 22 points. The contest was Maclean's third in a row with at least ten points.

Simi Valley's loss dropped their record down to 11-16. As for Camarillo, they pushed their record up to 25-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Simi Valley will host Royal at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Camarillo, they are taking a road trip to challenge Oak Park at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Camarillo's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches.
