Baseball Recap: West Carroll's Losing Streak Snapped at Nine Games

West Carroll had to endure a nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Middleton Tigers 11-5 on Monday. The War Eagles not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 31st (when they won 16-1).

Cole McMinn was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, R.Q. Thompson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Eli Bryant was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

West Carroll's victory bumped their record up to 4-20-1. As for Middleton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Middleton beat West Carroll by a score of 9-0 on Tuesday.
