Volleyball Recap: Webber Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Webber can now relate to. They fell just short of the Zeigler-Royalton Tornadoes by a score of 2-1 on Monday. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tornadoes earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Webber sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 26-24, 17-25, 26-24.

Edyn Knight paced Webber's offense, picking up seven kills. Knight got some help from Isabella Caronongan and her six assists. Knight was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Webber has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-12 record this season. As for Zeigler-Royalton, their win bumped their record up to 16-19.

Webber does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Zeigler-Royalton, they will challenge Edwards County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
