Mission Viejo took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Capistrano Valley Christian, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Diablos had just enough and edged out the Eagles 3-2 on Tuesday. This was payback for the Diablos, who suffered a 3-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Mission Viejo wouldn't go down easily and took Capistrano Valley Christian into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 25-17, 17-25, 22-25, 15-10.

With the win, Mission Viejo broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-9. As for Capistrano Valley Christian, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-14-1.
