Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Centennial walked away with it. They came out on top against the Clovis Cougars by a score of 8-3 on Friday. For the Golden Hawks, this counts as revenge for the 10-2 win the Cougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in June of 2021.

Centennial is on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 21 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Clovis, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-16.

Coming up, Centennial is taking a road trip to challenge Bullard at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Golden Hawks surely won't give up without a fight. Clovis does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
