Basketball Recap: Mundelein Takes a Loss

Mundelein suffered their closest loss since December 7, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Stevenson Patriots by a score of 45-43. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while the Patriots are ranked 60th).

Mundelein has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. As for Stevenson, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-8.

Mundelein has already played their next contest (against Libertyville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Stevenson will look to defend their home court on Friday against Waukegan at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Waukegan's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.
