Soccer Game Preview: Salem Hills vs. Maple Mountain

The Salem Hills Skyhawks will head out on the road to square off against the Maple Mountain Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Salem Hills' defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Cedar Valley with a sharp 6-0 victory. Brooks Barker was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Maple Mountain, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 4-0 margin over Springville on Thursday.

Maple Mountain's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Salem Hills, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Salem Hills came out on top in a nail-biter against Maple Mountain when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Salem Hills since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
