Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Midland). They blew past the LaGrange Gators 27-10 on Saturday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Rebels needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Gracie Meyer was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with six stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Audrey Borill, who scored four runs and stole five bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Midland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. They are 4-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Midland's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for LaGrange, their loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8.
Coming up, Midland will venture away from home to challenge Breaux Bridge at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
