Soccer Recap: Coldwater Comes Up Short

Coldwater lost against Harper Creek back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Cardinals lost 9-0 to the Beavers. While losing is never fun, Coldwater can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 313th, while Harper Creek are ranked 35th).

Coldwater's loss dropped their record down to 4-8-1. As for Harper Creek, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

The future could be bright for both Coldwater and Harper Creek: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Cardinals will look to extend Hastings' four-game losing streak when they meet at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Harper Creek will try to hand Central their 11th-straight defeat when the two meet at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday.
