Basketball Recap: Gateway Comes Up Short

Gateway played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Heritage Eagles, falling 56-36. The defeat continues a trend for the Olympians in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Heritage to victory, but perhaps none more so than Skylar Peterson, who posted five points and five steals. That's the most steals Peterson has posted since back in December of 2023. Payton Jumps was another key player, putting up seven points and seven rebounds.

Gateway's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Heritage, their victory ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-7.

Gateway has already played their next contest (against Aurora Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Heritage has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Smoky Hill.
