Angel Yanez was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Nathaniel Ramirez was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those runs were his first of the season.

Gompers Prep Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Ocean View Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
