Baseball Recap: El Capitan Gets the Win

El Capitan gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They had just enough and edged out the Maranatha Christian Eagles 6-5. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Vaqueros as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Jay Aschenbrener looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Seth Walker, who went 1-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

El Capitan's record is now 5-6. As for Maranatha Christian, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-11.

El Capitan has already played their next contest, an 8-3 defeat against Scripps Ranch on the 3rd. As for Maranatha Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 11-1 loss against Helix on the 3rd.
