After a string of seven wins, Barry Western's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Liberty Eagles by a score of 2-1. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Barry Western started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-15, 25-15.

Their offense was headlined by Paisley Patterson and Emma Dixon, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Alysa Bareis and her 22 assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Barry Western's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-3. As for Liberty, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.

Barry Western didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Augusta Southeastern on the 18th. As for Liberty, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Westville on the 19th.
