 New Bern Christian Academy have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. Their  tough  48-27 defeat to Christ Covenant  on Monday might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, New Bern Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings  (they are ranked 257th, while Christ Covenant is ranked 98th).
 Despite the  loss, New Bern Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up:  Alli Anderson  dropped  a double-double on 12 points and 14  rebounds. Anderson has been hot recently, having posted eight or more  rebounds the last four times she's  played.
 Christ Covenant's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Mia Seyler led the charge by  scoring 11 points along with six  rebounds and five  steals. It was the first time this season that  Seyler  grabbed two or more  steals.  Olivia Entzminger was another key contributor,  almost  dropping  a double-double on 11 points and nine  rebounds.
 New Bern Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Christ Covenant, the  victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 19-2.
 Coincidentally,  both teams will both be playing Trinity Christian the next time they take the court. Christ Covenant will  host Trinity Christian at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday, while New Bern Christian Academy will head out to face them  at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
