Basketball Recap: Jones County Takes a Loss

Jones County was the 99-58 winner over Veterans when they last played one another back in January of 2016, but their luck changed this time around. The Jones County Greyhounds fell to the Veterans Warhawks 41-36. The Greyhounds just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Veterans to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tristen Abner, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Abner a new career-high in steals (five). Jaivyon Dawson was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Jones County's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Veterans, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jones County has already played their next contest (against Ola), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Veterans will face off against Lee County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
