The Saint Andrew's Scots will be taking part in a tournament against the Pine Crest Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Saint Andrew's will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run last Tuesday, then bounced right back against Legacy on Monday. The Scots put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 12-1 win. With that victory, the Scots brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Richard Breeden tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Oliver Lipari was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Matt Spina was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Saint Andrew's always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Legacy only posted an OBP of .167.
Meanwhile, Pine Crest got the win against Monarch on Tuesday by a conclusive 12-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.
Michael Marber was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Marber was even better at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Pine Crest's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 3-1 (and 6-7 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jake Milton, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Stephen Gladding, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Pine Crest now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Saint Andrew's, their win bumped their record up to 12-7-1.
