Baseball Recap: Reavis Extends Winning Streak to Six

Reavis waltzed into their match on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Argo Argonauts. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-1 on Monday.

Reavis got a great performance from Michael Mendez as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Mendez has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Tino Villagomez was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Anthony Perez, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Reavis' victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-9. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Argo, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-18 record this season.

Reavis will head out to face off against Lemont at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Argo, they will host Chicago University at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Argonauts are facing the Maroons at the right time seeing as the Maroons are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
