Softball Recap: Des Arc Finds Playoff Glory Versus Hector

It's playoff time, and Des Arc had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Hector Wildcats 7-1 on Thursday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 contests by six runs or more this season.

Kaylee McDonald spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 30 consecutive appearances.

Des Arc has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Hector, their loss dropped their record down to 16-5.

Des Arc has already played their next game, a 9-6 defeat against Horatio on the 15th. Hector does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
