Softball Recap: Hawley Gets the Win

Hawley proved they can win big on Friday (they won by ten) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Brownwood Lions 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bearcats have posted since February 12th.

The team relied heavily on Jaylee Lowe, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and one double. Another player making a difference was Casey Cole, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Hawley's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Brownwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 8-3.

Coming up, Hawley will be playing in front of their home fans against Windthorst at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bearcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Brownwood, they are headed away from home for the first time to square off against San Angelo Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
