Recap: Hawkins Hawks vs. Downtown Magnets Suns

The Hawkins Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 61-53 to Downtown Magnets. Hawkins was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Downtown Magnets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Hawkins' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was De'Meiko Crawford, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kemaun Scott, who scored nine points.

Downtown Magnets found their leader in underclassman Ethan Train, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Yuri Hernandez was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.

Hawkins has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Downtown Magnets, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
