Soccer Game Preview: Lake Weir vs. Forest

Lake Weir is 0-10 against Forest since November of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Lake Weir Hurricanes will face off against the Forest Wildcats at 6:00 p.m.

Lake Weir is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 14th straight game on Wednesday. They came up short against Belleview, falling 8-0. That's two games in a row now that the Hurricanes have lost by exactly eight goals.

Meanwhile, Forest waltzed into their contest on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They never let the Knights onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory. The Wildcats' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three games.

Rylynn Robinson and Anna Bernard scored both of Forest's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 14 goals.

Forest is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 30 goals over those eight contests. As for Lake Weir, their loss dropped their record down to 0-14.

Lake Weir might still be hurting after the 8-0 defeat they got from Forest when the teams last played last Tuesday. Can Lake Weir avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
