Volleyball Recap: Devils Lake's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Devils Lake won the last time they faced Rugby and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Firebirds skirted past the Panthers 3-2. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Firebirds as it put an end to their six-match losing streak.

Devils Lake wouldn't go down easily and took Rugby into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-8, 25-10, 27-29, 15-10.

Leading Devils Lake to victory were Julia McIvor and Riley Remmick. McIvor had 21 digs and three aces, while Remmick had five aces and three digs.

Devils Lake's win bumped their record up to 5-6-1. As for Rugby, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7-1.

Coincidentally, Devils Lake and Rugby will both be playing Nedrose the next time they take the court. The Panthers will host the Cardinals at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Firebirds will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
