Baseball Recap: Finneytown Comes Up Short

Finneytown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against the Madeira MUSTANGS/AMAZONS, falling 12-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the MUSTANGS/AMAZONS this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-2 on Wednesday.

Finneytown saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Anderson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Finneytown's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Madeira, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-4.

Looking ahead, Finneytown will take on Mariemont at 5:00 p.m. on May 5. As for Madeira, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Deer Park at 5:00 p.m. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.67 runs per game on average), something the MUSTANGS/AMAZONS will no doubt try to take advantage of.
