Nease is 2-8 against Ponte Vedra since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Nease will head out to square off against Ponte Vedra at 6:00 p.m. Nease is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
Last Thursday, Nease was able to grind out a solid win over Beachside, taking the game 8-5.
Sydney Davis made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Miranda Harmon was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alanna Doherty, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.
Nease hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Ponte Vedra has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging four runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They came up short against Episcopal School of Jacksonville, falling 16-5. The Sharks haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Nadia Campbell made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Ponte Vedra's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Nease, their record is now 5-7.
Ponte Vedra's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Nease has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Ponte Vedra, though, as they've been averaging only 4 strikeouts. Will Nease keep running through batters, or will Ponte Vedra buck the trend?
Nease couldn't quite finish off Ponte Vedra in their previous meeting on March 6th and fell 8-6. Can Nease avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
