Soccer Game Preview: Laurens vs. Southside

The Laurens Raiders will challenge the Southside Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Laurens barely beat Clinton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Laurens never let Clinton get on the board and left with a 3-0 win on Wednesday. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Red Devils recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, while the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Southside who was credited with the win on Monday. Southside got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to Westside's zero. The Tigers' winning goal came courtesy of YAHIR RIVERA.

The victory made it two in a row for Southside and bumps their season record up to 4-1. As for Laurens, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Laurens came up short against Southside in their previous meeting back in March of 2018, falling 2-0. Can Laurens avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
