Volleyball Recap: Emma Ramirez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Gorton over Saunders Trades & Tech

Gorton lost against Saunders Trades & Tech back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wolves lost 3-0 to the Blue Devils. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Gorton was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-23, 25-12.

Gorton's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emma Ramirez, who had 14 digs and two assists. Katie Rojas was another key player, getting eight digs and five kills.

Gorton's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Saunders Trades & Tech, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Gorton will face off against rival Roosevelt at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Saunders Trades & Tech is set to take on their familiar foe Barack Obama School for Social Justice at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
