Baseball Recap: Monument Mountain Comes Up Short

Monument Mountain was the 10-2 winner over Belchertown when they last played one another back in May of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Spartans took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Orioles on Friday.

Monument Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Belchertown, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Monument Mountain will venture away from home to challenge Pittsfield at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Generals' pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so the Spartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Belchertown, they will head out to square off against Frontier Regional at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
