Carson Nichols posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Tuesday. As a matter of fact, he produced his best game of the campaign: he struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
